the summer is over and it wasnt bad. all i remember is seeing ryan adams (which was in may?), going to the beach and working. of course, i will not be attending school this fall. lets see where september, october and november take me. lateral, most likely. i suggest reading anything by david eggers and bret easton ellis (sp?) and listening to a wilhelm scream, against me!, sufjan stevens, settlefish, youth group or ryan adams. even phoenix. |

Went to the mall with lil' scotty golder. not a bad time but i hate shopping for clothes with other people. its an ardrous process that requires me to try things on and wander around a store aimlessly. when there is another person there, its just awkward. timmy g met us at the Gap. i spent about 180 dollars there. got some pants and shirt. afterwards we went to the 99 and had a few beers and watched the game. than, after that we went to newbury comics and i purchased the latests decemberists and lucero records.
im seeing lucero a week from sunday. if you would wish to go, just let me know. |

| | ryan adams - let it ride | ] | Uh Huh. Back from the proverbial dead i guess. Since i last "updated" this thing, i was in the process of planning a trip to seattle. well i went to seattle and it was amazing. WA is an amazing place. As a city, its comparable to boston. great bars, food and people. i stayed at Carolyn Smicks apartment which was a trip to say the least. lotta drinking and things of that nature. went to a number of great bars and restaurants. i even saw the mariners play at safeco. i took about 50 pictures but im not savy enough to get them online. someday, somehow. i defintaly have to go back out to the west coast. the people out there have such a different attitude about things. i cant really get it down in text but there is something in the water out there. |

Im going to WA in April. I am "stoked" as they say on the west coast. Right now, im watching the Rangers vs. Milwaukee on mlb.tv. Its entertaining but the Brewers cant play defense. Im working four days this week. bored. |

within the last few days ive been thinking about starting an internet radio show. of course ive done actual radio so this would be a few steps below compared to what ive done in the past. i dont really know how im going to do it but there is software and such. im prolly going to do the show with Jim Joyce and we will discuss various things. this might never happen but i have high hopes. |

so i got a couple days off. the first one is basically over. none the less, i went into boston today with Eric Benjamen. I wanted to buy a Mark Bellhorn jersey t shirt but they ran out. for new players, they only had renteria and wells.no matt clement meh. none the less we went to boston beer works afterwards and i had a luscious beer with a strange name at 1130 in the morning. the beer had a smooth white head with coffee and chocolate undertones. eric got peanut butter porter and it was damn good. i followed it up with an oatmeal beer thing which was as tasty. i ate turkey tips with some of the best fucking brocolli ever and some jasmine rice, complete with some leaf sticking out of the rice the meal was spectacular. i didn expect the food to be that good but it was. boston beer works. i can compare the restaurant with the sunset bar and grille which also has a large selection of beer. its a dead heat for which is better. following the feast, we went to newbury street where i bought the new trail of dead record and a hot cross record. the new trail of dead has been getting mediocre reviews and at first listen i can see where most reviewers are coming from. the shot for the moon with this one, making some grand and epic. i dont know if it will hold up over 13 or so songs but i like it so far. at 9.99, its a wise purchase. the hot cross record is sick and i bought it used for 7 bucks. id had a burned copy for a while but i lost it.
went i got home, i felt like shit. maybe it was from the beers but i doubt it. i slept for about 3 hours. i really am a boring zero. |

most people dont have a favorite song. well i do. Alex Chilton by the Replacements. back when i was smart, i did a 20 page research paper on the replacements. i wrote at great length about how influential the band was. i got an A. wierd. anyway Alex Chilton is about Alex Chilton. Paul Westerberg wrote the song because of how badass Mr. Chilton was. he was in a band called Big Star. For those of you who are unfamilar, the theme to "that 70's show" is big star.
anyway, im pretty sure that the entire song is about how Alex Chilton should have been a huge star. In Paul Westerbergs mind, he was.
the only reason i felt like writing this is because the song just came on XM. the only other times ive ever heard the song were on WFNX retro lunch. maybe ill post one of my fav songs every day, just so i have sometihng to write about.
ALEX CHILTON written by THE REPLACEMENTS
If he was from venus, would he feed us with a spoon? If he was from mars, wouldn’t that be cool? Standing right on campus, would he stamp us in a file? Hangin’ down in memphis all the while.
(chorus:)
Children by the million sing for alex chilton when he comes ’round They sing I’m in love. what’s that song? I’m in love with that song.
Cerebral rape and pillage in a village of his choice. Invisible man who can sing in a visible voice. Feeling like a hundred bucks, exchanging good lucks face to face. Checkin’ his stash by the trash at st. mark’s place.
(chorus)
I never travel far, without a little big star
Runnin’ ’round the house, mickey mouse and the tarot cards. Falling asleep with a flop pop video on. If he was from venus, would he meet us on the moon? If he died in memphis, then that’d be cool, babe. |

| | yo la tengo, olympic hopefulls | ] | i just wrote a great entry. it got deleted. i had so much hope for what i wrote. it was amazing. i work at the 99 Bar and Grill. I love Sam ADams White Ale and this song
I like the peace in the backseat, I don't have to drive, I don't have to speak, I can watch the country side, and I can fall asleep.
My family tree's loosing all it's leaves, crashing towards the driver's seat, the lightning bolt made enough heat to melt the street beneath your feet.
Alice died in the night, I've been learning to drive. My whole life, I've been learning.
I like the peace in the backseat, I don't have to drive, I don't have to speak, I can watch the country side
Alice died in the night, I've been learning to drive. My whole life, I've been learning.
its by the arcade fire. also, myspace is addictive for reasons i have yet to figure out.

| | interpol | ] | well i had a 'great nite'. hung out with jimmy @ the daily grind..which i never do but i wish i did more often...good times and great people. than i got called by marcus...he said there were some high stakes @ his house. i never turn down 'high stakes". me and dale and marcus waited for propespective players...yet no one showed up. oh welllll. typical i guess;
after we decided to call scotty and see if he wanted to bring over the fog machine. for those of you who dont know...the fog machine was a staple at scott and dales apartment. it made the room foggy...the kids love the fog. combined with beer and other drugs,...it was the best time ever. fog. simple, yet effective.
anyway the fog was in full effect,,,we remisned about easier times and better days. the summer! dale, scott and jim...i wasnt over there all the time but when i was it was killer. i miss that place.
i cant wait i guess...until i move out?
i got the job at the 99. see how it goes... |

Well, within the last 4 days, ive gotten "laid off" and found another job.
I showed up to work on wed like i always do and thier were all new people there. The Head chef, Eric, proceeded to tell me that this guy Geo bought into the restuarant and he was cutting hours. I then peeled and ate banana i brought with me as i asked about unemployment. Prozac is great. On tuesday, i went to every awful chain restuarant i could think of. Bugaboo Creek...i could tell they wanted to hire me but i really dont have the experience to handle the kind of business they get on a weekly basis. In my opinion, i think i interview really well. the gags were in full effect. The guy was going to keep me in mind. I went to a bunch of other places that day but yesterday i got offers from the 99 and Monponsett Inn, in Halifax. The 99 in in pembroke. i have the "second interview" on monday. I hope its a mere formality. I guess im pretty excited about having a new job. I will miss most of the people at Blue Water. I went in there yesterday to grab my check. No one really knew that i was let go, which is the way i like it. Something makes me think that they wont be around for much longer. Geo is an allright guy, i can understand the whole cutting hours thing.
I got my ass handed to me in cards last nite. i had the second nuts and lost to the owner of colettis. |

My room is very messy. I will clean it after i write this. Everyone hearts the show JEM, although i have never seen it.
The Patriots won the Superbowl. I attended the victory parade today with Eric Benj and Pagoda. It was pretty cool. A bit on the low-key side but this is the third sports related parade in three monthes to occur in Boston.
The Keys keep coming off of my keyboard. Its killing me
Crimes by the blood brothers is my favorite records of 2004.

| | Summer Teeth | ] | When i started this journal, i kind of wanted to make it funny and interesting. Of course, its neither. My main "goal" was to riff on things like baseball, music and life. I have not done that in forever. I think i am going to concentrate more on proper spelling and things like that. Last nite, i wrote what i thought was a great entry. It was funny. Two hours after writing it, i realized that it probably was not funny at all. My sense of humor is awful. Some people like it, some don't. I edited the entry about 10 times, trying to censor it in a way that would still make it humorous. Than it hit me...who gives a shit. I assume only about six people read this, and those six only have a passing interest.
I had to wake up at six am today so i could drive my father to the train station. This was so that I could use the car later to go to work. I really dont mind waking up early. It was smoothly. As I was messing around with the radio it occurred to me that terrestrial (not satellite) radio is horrible. I can't really recall the exact channel (I'm fairly sure it was 99.9) but I have never heard a worse "morning radio" show. It was a bunch of dullards just being lame. The female co-host was actually saying how she wanted to see that new wedding movie with Debra Messing in it. YUCKETS! As i was hearing it, a certain satisfaction came over me; I am glad that i left school and decided not to pursue radio. All through high school, i listened to radio obessively, whether it be WBZ or Howard Stern. I LOVED RADIO. When I was a freshmen at Curry, Jim Joyce and I had a damn funny radio program that only lasted about three shows. It was pretty fun and we were total idiots. As I remember it, we had to separate because it was a little risque. After that, radio just became me playing awful record after awful record. I slowly fell out of love with radio. If i ever became an on air guy who had to control a studio full of jackasses on an easy listening station, I'd probably hang myself. The lack of creative freedom is mind blowing. |

today i did absolutely nothing. scotty, marc and sean were going to be late for thier soccer game so they dropped me off at the end of my street. i had to run home. fags. it was decent exercise
current music lot six - major fables leatherface - dog disco small brown bike - river bed piebald - if it werent for a really long title, i wouldnt have had to get up to see how to spell venetian wilco - summer teeth
why do i list the music i listen to? i dont really know. Maybe its a subconsious way of me telling everyone what i did today. usually to wind down @ nite, i throw a bunch of records in my cd player, since my ipod had a cracked screen, rendering it unusable. I'm thinking that i probably unconciously choose a cd's that relate to what i did today. Applying that possibility, i have decided to look at some songs on those records listed above.
It is quite possible that i did herion today, since thats what Jeff Tweedy of wilco usually writes about. Also, i may have worn really tight clothes and pranced all over andover ma, just like piebald. maybe i even had an improptu dance party?
Leatherface is a band i love. i dont know what they sing about. its usually nonsense words strung together to form complete thoughts, somehow. The record is called dogdisco, but i have cats. CatDisco? Anything is possible since i am heavily medicated at this moment. The Lot Six record is called major fables. I lie like a bastard. its all coming full circle.....
as we speak, i am sipping lemon tea with sugar and honey. Surprisingly, i could pass an HIV test right now.
